About us
Established in 1887, RMIT University (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) is one of Australia's largest universities with over 57,000 student enrolments in 2006. The university specialises in engineering, business and information technology as well as popular contemporary fields including life sciences, communications and fashion. RMIT is a world leader in aviation research and training, with dedicated schools in Aerospace Engineering, Flight Training and English language training and assessment.
RMIT English Worldwide, RMIT University's language centre, provides aviation language training and testing solutions for the international aviation community.
RMIT English Worldwide and Aviation English
RMIT English Worldwide has been involved in Aviation English training since the mid 1990s. Since the announcement of the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements in September, 2002, RMIT English Worldwide has been developing and publishing aviation English language training materials and tests for international use, in response to these requirements.
RMIT English World Wide in other countries
RMIT English Worldwide works in partnership with industry and educational institutions across the world. Specialist programs are offered to the aviation industry and in teacher training for those wishing to become instructors in the English language and for non-English speaking teachers wishing to teach in English.
