Native English Speakers

ICAO accepts that language proficiency of native-speaking pilots and air traffic controllers does not need to be assessed through formal proficiency examination process. ICAO also acknowledges that native speakers who do not have linguistic expertise can successfully recognise proficiency at the expert level (ICAO Level 6). The RMIT Expert Speaker Evaluation Tool (RESET) adopts these ICAO recommendations.
