RELTA for Pilots is an English language proficiency test used to assess pilots for licensing purposes, as required by the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements.
RELTA is used to evaluate language proficiency in the six language criteria: Pronunciation, Structure, Vocabulary, Fluency, Comprehension and Interactions for the six ICAO levels.
RELTA consists of a 25-minute speaking test and a 40-minute listening test. The RELTA Speaking is delivered by an accredited RELTA Examiner and rated separately by at least two accredited RELTA Raters. RELTA Listening is delivered by computer.
RELTA is used to assess speaking and listening proficiency in both phraseology for routine communications and plain English for non-routine and emergency communications in voice-only radiotelephony and face-to-face situations, as required by the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements.
