Radiotelephony English for Pilots

Radiotelephony English for Pilots is a 125-hour course for pilots who need to improve their English for communication in radiotelephony in order to meet the ICAO Language Proficiency Requirements.

There are two course components: a workbook, containing 65 hours of learning material and an e-learning component, consisting of 60 hours of material. All materials have been developed in conjunction with subject matter experts from Qantas Airways to ensure accuracy and industry-relevance.

The course takes a communicative approach to language learning and focuses on communications for a variety of ground and in-flight contexts. The course specifically develops communicative proficiency in phraseology, for communication in routine situations, and plain English for non-routine situations.

Delivery options are flexible, with up to 75% independent study: 3 hours of teacher-led instruction and 9.5 hours of independent study per week (course takes 10 weeks to complete: 30 hrs contact / 95 hrs independent study).
